Dr Faisal Khan is a consultant interventional cardiologist based in London, specialising in TAVI (transcatheter aortic valve implantation), patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure and MitraClip procedures, alongside coronary angioplasty (PCI), aortic stenosis and angina. He sees patients privately at St Anthony’s Hospital and London Bridge Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK, while also practising at St George's, Epsom and St Helier University Hospital Group.
Dr Khan trained in medicine at Barts and The London Hospitals, earning an additional first-class intercalated degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine. He was awarded the Tallow Chandlers Scholarship and the Drapers Prize for academic excellence. He completed the North East Thames Academic Foundation Programme where he was recognised with the NHS Innovations Award for service improvements before undertaking the South London Cardiology Registrar rotation.
Dr Khan conducted cardiovascular research funded by the British Heart Foundation and trained in coronary intervention at St George's Hospital, King's College Hospital, and Barts Heart Centre. He was selected for the prestigious British Cardiac Society Structural Fellowship, spending a year in Bern, Switzerland, where he gained advanced training in structural interventions, including TAVI, PFO closure and percutaneous edge-to-edge repair techniques. He has extensive emergency and complex angioplasty experience and helps provide mechanical support for the sickest patients with cardiogenic shock.
Dr Khan is a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society, and the European Society of Cardiology. He developed and leads a national course on managing TAVI vascular complications.
