Dr Felicity Kaplan

Dr Felicity Kaplan is a consultant endocrinologist with over 15 years’ experience in endocrinology and diabetes, as well as general medicine. She is based in Hertfordshire at Pinehill Hospital and One Hatfield Hospital.
She specialises in treating thyroid and parathyroid disorders, polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS) and osteoporosis, in addition to diabetes and other areas of endocrinology including metabolic disorders, adrenal gland disorders and pituitary tumours. Dr Kaplan qualified from Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town, before obtaining a diploma in child health.
She underwent further training to specialise in adult general medicine, diabetes and endocrinology and subsequently moved to the UK, spending two years at UCL Hospital London as a specialist registrar. Since then, she has worked as a consultant in general medicine, diabetes and endocrinology at the East and North Herts NHS Trust.
Dr Kaplan's research has been published in various peer-reviewed journals including numerous publications in the field of diabetes and endocrinology, including the British Journal of Neurosurgery, Quarterly Journal of Medicine, BMJ, The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and Future Hospital Journal. She presents regular talks for GPs, and also visits GP practises, providing education in diabetes and endocrinology.
She is an honorary clinical lecturer at University College London, an RCP College Tutor at her NHS trust, and teaches all levels of trainees including medical students, junior doctors at Foundation/CMT and SpR level, alongside GPs and practice nurses.
