- Saw this lovely doctor at Hillindgon Hospital when I had to have my gynaecology appointment for five weeks and I had to say I felt very very easy. I was nervous and I felt very at ease
- I had the best care during my pregnancy from start to finish. Mr Chilcott was a great support, went above and beyond to ensure that everything worked out and to comfort me. Cannot thank him enough for all the great support I had from himself and his team.
- We will be eternally grateful that we were recommended to Mr Chilcott by a good friend of ours. As somebody who always dreamt of becoming a mother but has also always been incredibly anxious about child birth, Mr Chilcott’s calming and kind demeanour from the moment we had our first consultation was to thank for the start of taking that anxiety away. We never felt judged for pursuing the route of an elective c section and Mr Chilcott made us feel that he supported and respected our decision which gave me confidence in myself and him. We had a couple of consultations with Mr Chilcott before our planned c section date and both times he was impressively informative - always willing to repeat himself so we were absolutely clear on what to expect and the fact we were able to WhatsApp him if and when we had any concerns throughout the pregnancy was amazing. His prompt responses to such WhatsApps were reassuring and appreciated. The morning of the C Section felt very surreal and I was very anxious. I was first met by our amazing anaesthetist in our room at The Portland that worked alongside Mr Chilcott. He was also incredibly kind and reassuring - going above and beyond to read the room once we got to theatre with regards to my anxiety. He managed to reduce my anxiety so much by being so clearly communicative with me about absolutely everything that was happening at any given moment from start to finish. Mr Chilcott also met us before theatre in our room and his calmness shone through again which was particularly reassuring when I was not feeling calm. It reminded me that although this was absolutely huge for me having never had any surgery or anaesthesia before, this was something very routine for him that he was very well equipped to do which gave me full faith in him. Everyone involved in theatre was amazing, mastering their individual roles and contributions impeccably but pulling together so well as team to do so also, and in turn making both my husband and I feel very well informed and comfortable. The birth itself was the single best day of my life. The moment we first saw our beautiful daughter when Mr Chilcott held her up will forever be my favourite memory, I replay it every day in my head and I speak so positively of my birth story to whoever asks. I feel incredibly lucky to have a positive birth story to speak of. Everything that happened throughout the surgery was exactly as Mr Chilcott had explained it would be and I felt prepared. I felt so unbelievably safe and confident in Mr Chilcott’s hands throughout and appreciated his professionalism but at the same time valued the light heartedness of conversation throughout that put me at such ease and at points made me laugh once we knew our baby girl, Orla, had been delivered safely. Contrary to my fears I felt absolutely no pain at all and have come away with a very small, neat and tidy scar. I have had no complications at all and cannot believe how well I have recovered which I believe is down to Mr Chilcott’s excellence. I was still able to WhatsApp him post surgery and was glad to see him at my 6 week check where he was very happy with my recovery and wasted no time in using it as an opportunity to also do a smear test which I was due to have before pregnancy and obviously couldn’t until post pregnancy. I will be transferring all my gynaecological care over to Mr Chilcott now and hope we will be blessed enough to fall pregnant again in the future - I will without any doubt at all return to Mr Chilcott for our care again and again. Thank you so much, Mr Chilcott, and your team for helping our dream become a reality in safely delivering our beautiful daughter to us and looking after me so well throughout.
