Dr Jaimal Kothari is an Oxford-trained consultant haematologist and haemato-oncologist, with private practice based at Leaders in Oncology Care, Harley Street, London with further practice locations in Oxford and Windsor.
Dr Kothari graduated with a first class honours degree in medical sciences at the University of Cambridge, before completing his medical training at the University of Oxford. He undertook his haematology training at the internationally renowned University College Hospital London (UCLH), which included an advanced fellowship on the comprehensive treatment of myeloma and associated conditions.
His areas of expertise lie in the treatment of multiple myeloma, lymphomas and associated disorders. He is myeloma lead for The Thames Valley Cancer Alliance, co-ordinating care for a population of 2.5 million people – with the primary responsibilities being chairing the regional multi-disciplinary team meeting, developing new protocols, being a point of contact for complex case discussions and co-ordinating clinical trials. He manages patients on complex cellular treatments, including CAR-T therapy.
He is a primary investigator in numerous clinical trials for new treatments in myeloma and lymphoma, and has published extensively in high impact clinical and scientific journals, including senior authorship in national guidelines.
He is the co-host of The Myeloma Minutes podcast which has become an extremely opular resource for people affected by myeloma, covering all aspects of the treatment journey, with new episodes released weekly. The podcast is available on all major hosting platforms, including Apple podcasts and Spotify. The podcast also has its own YouTube channel.
He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Haematology at the University of Oxford, and regularly lectures regionally and nationally.
