Mr Javaid Ahmad Muglu

Mr Javaid Ahmad Muglu is a renowned gynaecological consultant and advanced laparoscopic surgeon in east London and central London who specialises in gynaecological cancer, endometriosis and laparoscopy, alongside premenstrual syndrome (PMS), fibroids, contraceptive methods, abnormal smear test and ultrasound. He privately practises at The Blackheath Hospital - part of Circle Health Group, eGynaecologist, and The London Clinic. His NHS base is Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, where he is lead consultant in gynaecological oncology and advanced laparoscopic surgeon at University Hospital Lewisham.

Mr Muglu serves as Gynaecological Chair of the Southeast London Cancer Alliance (SELCA). He is an RCOG-accredited specialist in both gynaecological oncology and general gynaecology, having completed specialist training in gynaecological oncology at Barts Cancer Centre and the Royal London Hospital. He is known for introducing 'One Stop' gynaecological clinics offering same-day scans and biopsies to streamline diagnosis and treatment.

Mr Muglu has over 50 publications and presentations to his name and frequently presents at national and international conferences. His research outputs are available on ResearchGate, and he is actively involved in education as a dedicated mentor and trainer for fellow consultants and junior doctors. He was awarded Fellowship of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2019.

Mr Muglu sits on the Council of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and previously served as Clinical Director for Gynaecological Services at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.

He offers both laparoscopic and open surgical approaches, with particular focus on early cancer detection, prevention, and personalised treatment pathways for ovarian, cervical, uterine, vulval, and vaginal malignancies. Treatment options range from monitoring and medication to advanced minimally invasive surgery tailored to patient preferences and future fertility requirements.
