Dr Katrina Lake

Dr Katrina Lake is a highly experienced and compassionate consultant clinical psychologist, based in Sheffield and Birmingham, and founder of Lake Psychology. She specialises in the treatment of trauma, depression, anxiety disorders (including OCD), and addictions, offering evidence-based therapies carefully tailored to each individual’s needs. She also has extensive experience supporting autistic individuals and those with ADHD.

Dr Lake takes a holistic and compassionate approach to therapy, grounded in warmth, empathy, and a commitment to helping clients create meaningful change. Her work focuses on building resilience, strengths, and a sense of purpose, supporting clients to make practical changes while deepening their understanding of themselves. She is trained in a range of psychological therapies, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT, and mindfulness-based approaches.

With over 25 years of experience across both the NHS and private healthcare, Dr Lake has held senior clinical and leadership roles including Mental Health Clinical Advisor at the Department of Health, Lead for Specialised Psychological Therapies at Sussex Partnership NHS Trust, and Lead Psychologist at the Priory Hospital Hove. Her extensive background enables her to combine deep clinical expertise with a warm, approachable style and a collaborative, active way of working.
