Dr Maria Isabella Sereni is a consultant in gynaecology and obstetrics who completed her medical degree and specialist training at the University Hospital of Rome “Campus Bio-Medico.” Following her graduation, she further developed her clinical expertise by training at several leading hospitals across Rome. Her main areas of expertise include HPV, women's health, heavy periods, endometriosis, hysteroscopy, and vulval pain, but to mention a few.
She later spent four years in the United States at George Mason University in Manassas, Virginia, where she worked as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Applied Proteomics and Molecular Medicine (CAPMM). During this time, her research focused on ovarian cancer proteomics and the identification of novel therapeutic targets.
In 2015, Dr Sereni relocated to the United Kingdom. She currently practices as a consultant in gynaecology and obstetrics in London with Dottore London, and also holds the position of Honorary Research Fellow at Churchill Hospital, part of the Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust.
Dr Sereni treats patients with a wide variety of gynaecological conditions. She has particular expertise in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of gynaecological cancers, and is highly skilled in both 2D and 3D ultrasound imaging as well as colposcopy. In addition, she has extensive experience in prenatal diagnostics and obstetric ultrasound.
