Mr Matthew Waites is a highly regarded trauma and orthopaedic surgeon based in West Birmingham. He specialises in total knee replacement, total hip replacement, and partial knee replacement with over ten years’ experience in performing these procedures. Mr Waites graduated in medicine from the renowned St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School in London. He completed higher surgical training on the well-regarded London, South West Thames training rotation through St George’s Hospital becoming a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedics. He completed a research fellowship at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, USA. Between 2014 and 2017, Mr Waites served as the clinical director for surgical specialities at the Dudley Group of Hospitals. Mr Waites continues to use his breadth of experience to teach surgical trainees and allied health professionals. Mr Waites is passionate about providing optimised care, enabling patients to recover rapidly and achieve high functional outcomes with minimised post-operative pain. Mr Waites is an active member of the British Association of Surgery of the Knee, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the British Orthopaedic Association. - mr waite is simply the best in his field i didn’t want anyone else to do my knee surgery and im so glad i had mr waite his care for myself and his other patients i found and saw for myself was outstanding my surgery was on the 2nd of october which went extremely well even after surgery mr waite came and saw all his patients to make sure we was all alright mr waite as i said you would be in extremely good hands rest assured kind regards a happy patient sharon smith

- Mr Matthew Waites recently carried out my total hip replacement surgery with which I am extremely happy. I am an active 82 year old lady and I made a very quick recovery with no problems and am now back to normal. Mr Waites is a warm, friendly, attentive gentleman. He thoroughly explained the operating procedure involved, all the possible outcomes and continued aftercare. He is kind and caring, and did an excellent job, for which I am very very grateful.
