Dr Michal Trabka is an experienced consultant urological surgeon with 25 years of medical experience and an international clinical career spanning Poland and the United Kingdom. His principal areas of expertise are endourology and minimally invasive urological surgery, with particular interests in urinary stone disease, benign prostatic enlargement, bladder tumours and the diagnosis and management of prostate and bladder conditions.
He graduated from the Medical University of Lublin in 2001 and completed specialist training in Urology in 2009, obtaining the European Board of Urology qualification (FEBU). In 2010, he was awarded a PhD in Urology by the Medical University of Lublin for research focused on the endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract disorders.
Dr Trabka has extensive experience in endourological surgery and the minimally invasive treatment of kidney, ureteric and bladder stones. His surgical experience includes ureteroscopy (URS), flexible ureteroscopy and retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS), laser lithotripsy, percutaneous stone surgery (PCNL and mini-PCNL), as well as endoscopic surgery for benign prostatic enlargement and bladder tumours, including TURP/TURPiS, HoLEP and TURBT.
Alongside his specialist endourological practice, Dr Trabka provides comprehensive assessment and treatment for a broad range of urological conditions, including lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), benign prostatic enlargement (BPH), haematuria, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, recurrent urinary tract infections, erectile dysfunction, male infertility and conditions affecting the male genitalia, including phimosis, frenulum disorders and hydrocele.
His professional career has included urological posts in both Poland and the United Kingdom. In the UK, he gained experience at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby and Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, Scotland. He subsequently developed extensive consultant-level experience in Poland and currently combines hospital-based urological surgery in Poland with private urological practice in the United Kingdom.
Dr Trabka is a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) and a member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS), European Association of Urology (EAU), Polish Urological Association (PTU) and Endourological Society. He holds specialist recognition in Urology in Poland, the United Kingdom and Iceland, reflecting his international professional qualifications and experience.
His approach to clinical practice is based on evidence-based medicine, careful diagnostic assessment and clear communication with patients. Wherever appropriate, he favours minimally invasive treatment techniques designed to achieve effective treatment while reducing surgical morbidity and recovery time.
