Mr Mohammad Ghassan Ayoubi

Mr Mohammad Ghassan Ayoubi is a highly experienced consultant ophthalmologist with more than 35 years of expertise in ophthalmology and a specialist interest in refractive laser surgery and paediatric ophthalmology. Practising at Optical Express, he has performed more than 43,000 refractive procedures, making him one of the UK's most experienced refractive surgeons.

He was also among the first ophthalmologists to be awarded the Certificate in Laser Refractive Surgery by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, recognising his expertise in this advanced field.

After qualifying in medicine in 1984, Mr Ayoubi began his ophthalmology training at Aleppo University before relocating to the UK to continue his specialist training. He trained at several leading hospitals, including the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, East Glamorgan General Hospital, St Woolos Hospital in South Wales, Ipswich Hospital and the Royal Chesterfield Hospital. He further enhanced his expertise by completing a Master's degree in Ophthalmology with distinction through Bristol Eye Hospital, the Bristol Eye Bank and the University of Bristol.

Alongside his extensive clinical practice, Mr Ayoubi has remained actively involved in ophthalmic research, contributing to a number of scientific publications and research projects. He is also committed to education and professional development, having trained and supervised numerous optometrists and refractive surgeons throughout the UK. His wealth of clinical experience, combined with his dedication to innovation, teaching and delivering outstanding patient care, has established him as a respected figure in the field of ophthalmology.
