Dr Mohan Rathnaiah is an esteemed consultant psychiatrist in liaison and neuropsychiatry based in London and Nottingham. He specialises in a variety of mental health illnesses, including psychosis, bipolar disorder, dementia and its diagnosis, as well as depression, sleep disorders, adult autism & neurodivergence and impulsive-compulsive spectrum disorders. After graduating from Government Medical College in Mysore in 2001, Dr Rathnaiah spent several years working in India's leading hospitals before moving to England. He then joined West Kent NHS and Social Care Trust as a senior house officer in their mental health department, and later received a Diploma in Mental Health from Queen’s University in Belfast. In 2010, Dr Rathnaiah obtained his MRCPsych from the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

His studies have been published in the UK and in India, and have analysed the deficits in classical schizophrenia, stress in the workforce, and depression in new mothers. He is keen to pursue clinical research which directly benefits the quality of life of his patients, and thus, is currently the main coordinator and medical lead for Nottingham’s SPRING (Study of psychosis and the role of inflammation and GABA /Glutamate) investigation.
Besides his medicine, Dr Rathnaiah is an Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham.
