Dr Muzafar Hawramy

Dr Muzafar Hawramy is a consultant psychiatrist in London who specialises in adult psychiatry, neuropsychiatry and learning disabilities, adult ADHD, autism, psychiatric expertise and psychiatric treatment. He privately practises at Chase Lodge Hospital while he has been also working for the NHS for many years.

Dr Hawramy has specialist expertise in neuropsychiatry, neurodevelopmental disorders and intellectual disability, and has extensive experience diagnosing and treating adults with complex presentations. He offers comprehensive assessments and tailored treatment plans for individuals whose emotional and mental health symptoms relate to underlying neurological development or brain-based conditions.

Dr Hawramy undertook his core psychiatry training at the South London and Maudsley training scheme and trained in Guy’s, Maudsley, and St Thomas hospitals. He later completed higher specialist training in intellectual disability psychiatry through the Severn Deanery in Bristol and Gloucestershire. In addition to his psychiatry qualifications, he has training experience in neurology and holds a University College London master’s degree in clinical neurology, a UCL degree in medical education, and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the British Neuropsychiatric Association and is on the GMC specialist register.

Dr Hawramy is approved by the secretary of state for health and social care as an approved clinician for having a special experience in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders.

Alongside clinical practice, Dr Hawramy supervises core and higher trainees in psychiatry and has contributed to the academic field through research publications in psychiatry and neuropsychiatry. He is particularly interested in the brain–mind interface and the impact of central nervous system conditions on thoughts, perception, cognition and behaviour.
