Dr Nitha Naqvi

Dr Nitha Naqvi a highly accomplished senior London paediatric cardiologist is Winner of Asian Woman of the Year, for which she was congratulated by the prime minister and invited to number 10. Her life story showcased for a month on the iconic billboard in Picadilly Circus. She has 30 years experience in paediatrics and paediatric cardiology and cares for babies, children and teenagers with all types of heart problems, providing same day consultation, ECG, echocardiogram, exercise test and blood tests privately at the Wimpole Street Diagnostic Centre in the Harley Street area. Her nhs practice is at The Royal Brompton Hospital in Chelsea, Evelina Children’s Hospital, and Harefield Hospital, part of Guys and St Thomas’s Hospitals Trust.

She specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac problems in children, being a specialist in congenital heart disease, heart murmurs, Marfan syndrome, palpitations, arrhythmia, chest pain, fainting and dizziness, aortic disease, and cardiac screening.

Dr Naqvi trained at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Medical School, obtaining a first-class honours degree. She consistently ranked first in the London paediatric junior doctor and the UK national paediatric cardiology trainee interviews. 

She is the winner of the Royal Society of Medicine Paediatric Prize, the British Congenital Cardiac Association Prize and the Top Doctors Award.

Dr Naqvi is a well respected teacher of doctors from all over the world. She has had a profound impact on the wider NHS by personally training more than 3000 doctors for the General Medical Council Clinical Exam; it is estimated that these doctors now care for approximately 4.5 million patients across the UK. She has also led prestigious international paediatric echocardiography courses for more than a decade. 

Her extensive leadership portfolio includes roles as Congenital Heart Disease Network Director for more than 40 hospitals, Paediatric Echocardiography Lead, Aortopathy Lead, and she is also a trustee of the Marfan Trust.

More recently, Dr. Naqvi has become a children’s author and is an active voice on social media, garnering over 70,000 views across her TikTok and Instagram platforms. She also features prominently in the Migration Museum's Heart of the Nation exhibition celebrating the NHS.
