Mr Nitin Shetty is a vastly-experienced consultant orthopaedic spinal surgeon based in London, specialising in degenerative spinal conditions, spinal infections and spinal fractures. His interests are minimally-invasive spinal operations, slipped disc and sciatica alongside neck and back pain.
He graduated with an MBBS in India, where he also completed his postgraduate degree in orthopaedics. Afterwards, Mr Shetty trained as an orthopaedic registrar on the London-KSS deanery. He completed two spinal fellowships; the first was at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, and the second was at Guys and St Thomas Hospital. Mr Shetty's training was particularly focused on spinal deformities and minimally invasive surgery.
Also being involved in full-time research, Mr Shetty submitted a thesis to Sheffield University and received a masters degree. Along with his research, he has many publications in peer-reviewed journals. Mr Shetty has presented and co-chaired sessions in national and international conferences, as well. In addition, he is a clinical and educational supervisor for junior trainees and orthopaedic registrars in three different programmes.

- Excellent clinical and surgical skills. He also has a human and caring approach to patients, involving them in medical treatment decisions.
- The only problem was that the details of my appointment made through Top Doctors wasn't on the system at the hospital when I arrived. I still had the appointment at the time I'd booked.

- Very bad experience with the doctor, 2 visit, each lastet 6 minutes, no willingness to answer my questions, no physical examination at all. Very poor care and once trying to contact assistant was never called back. My experience was bad.Doctor's response -Thank you for the time taken to write your review. While I appreciate some visits are longer than others I will always spend enough time to ensure that all questions are answered. A physical examination is always done on the first visits and subsequently only when required. This is also clarified in your clinic letters. While I was disappointed that you were not happy with the service you have since returned for 3 further appointments. I hope that this is an indication that you are in fact happy with quality and level of service provided.
- I had microdisectomy performed by Mr Nitin Shetty last week and I would wholeheartedly recommend him. From the first visit he made me feel re-assured, speaking very confidently and firmly, presenting options and giving me his recommendation. I felt safe in his hands.
