- Highly action teenage boy who is very self conscious about his acne. Both mother and son came out of appointment feeling worse than went in. Language and bedside manner gave impression doctor not used to dealing with teens. Information given is same I got online pharmacy and nhs GP so no better off having had to pay to go private as not covered due to adolescent issue. We will not be returning. This was TWs clinic not listed on survey!Doctor's response -Thank you for your review and comments, I'm very sorry that your appointment did not meet your expectation. In the appointment I did explain the diagnosis and the available and internationally approved treatment options. I completely understand that it can sometimes feel overwhelming during the appointment and I'm usually more than happy to discuss all the options again on another appointment or even to do a follow up telephone conversation to go through any questions patients or relatives might think of after the appointment. Unfortunately I was not informed that you felt this way during the consultation or even after. I was not even aware of the review until very recently. I can reassure you that the treatment options that I discussed and offered during the consultation are the most appropriate available options based on national guidelines and recommendations. I can assure you that these treatment can't be given by a pharmacist and some of the options can't be prescribed by even GPs. Once again I'm sorry that your appointment did not meet your expectation. Please feel free to get a second opinion from another dermatologist and I hope you will find the answers that you would like to hear. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.
