Mr Pablo Martinez-Devesa

Mr Pablo Martinez-Devesa is a highly renowned consultant ENT surgeon who qualified in medicine and surgery in 1993. From 1997, he trained in ENT and was appointed consultant ENT surgeon in Oxford in 2007.

Having performed nearly 8,000 ENT surgical procedures, he brings extensive experience in all general aspects of ENT for both adults and children, as well as medical and surgical treatment of rhinological diseases, with over 4,000 nasal and sinus procedures performed. These include the management of rhinitis and allergy, treatment of epistaxis, surgery for nasal obstruction, and all types of endoscopic sinus surgery, including image guided FESS and balloon sinuplasty for chronic sinus infections.

He has surgically treated nearly 1,000 cases of more complex sinus and anterior skull base disease, using intraoperative Image Guidance Navigation for revision and complex endoscopic frontal sinus surgery. His experience includes endonasal surgery for epiphora (watery eye), vidian neurectomy for vasomotor rhinitis (watery nose), endoscopic orbital decompression for thyroid eye disease, and endoscopic trans-nasal approach for anterior skull base tumours and CSF leak. He is also skilled in various external surgical approaches to the sinuses such as lateral rhinotomy and midfacial degloving.

Before his specialist training in rhinology and anterior skull base surgery, Mr Martinez-Devesa trained in Otology and gained broad experience in managing acute and chronic ear diseases, particularly childhood hearing problems. He has performed close to 2,000 otological procedures. His techniques include LASER-assisted surgery and Oto-Endoscopic methods. He also has extensive experience in treating Cholesteatoma, Meniere’s disease, vertigo, and tinnitus.
