Mr Paul Goldsmith is a general surgeon with a focus on upper GI surgery at Spire Hospital Manchester. He specialises in hiatal hernia surgery, acid reflux, gastroscopy, gallstones, dysphagia and indigestion (dyspepsia).
Mr Goldsmith graduated from The University of Leeds, completed his training in Yorkshire, and earned an MD for his research on '1H NMR spectrometric identification of biomarkers in renal transplantation.' He also spent some time working in The Netherlands.
With more than 30 publications and a record of presenting his work nationally and internationally, Mr Goldsmith has become experienced in various surgical areas. One of his notable areas of expertise is in The Reflux Clinic, where he focuses on gastro-oesophageal reflux. - After 8 years of suffering from a fairly large hiatus hernia, sickness, acid and complications with my local NHS, Mr Goldsmith offered a Laparoscopic Hiatus Hernia Repair. He is very easy to talk to, very informative and he really wants the best possible outcome for you. I am now 8 weeks post op and all of my symptoms have gone. It is hard to describe just how much he has done for me and I can't thank him enough. I would recommend him to anyone as he is truly outstanding
- I saw Mr Goldsmith after referral for GORD. After some initial tests, we discussed the options of fundoplication and a linx device plus the pros/cons. I opted for the Linx, and had the surgery just over a month ago. It's been like flipping a light switch. 17yrs on PPIs, and I stopped them all instantly.
