Mr Peter Reilly is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon currently practicing at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, and also sees private patients at clinics in St. John’s Wood and Chelsea. He has extensive experience in shoulder and elbow surgery.
Mr Reilly began his medical studies at St.Mary’s (Imperial College) London, graduating in 1994 and awarded the Hepburn Memorial Prize in finals. He completed basic surgical training in Reading and Oxford and Orthopaedic training in North West Thames region. A research degree focusing on rotator cuff tears, for which he was awarded an MS. To further specialise, he undertook a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford. In 2005, Mr Reilly was appointed as a consultant.
An active interest in research, Mr Reilly is Honorary Reader in the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College, is an author of more than 80 peer review papers and multiple book chapters. He has co-supervised 10 candidates to completion of doctoral level studies.
Over the course of his career, he has received multiple accolades, including the Robert Jones Prize and the BOA Medal during his higher surgical training. In 2006, he was named the Travelling Fellow for the British Elbow and Shoulder Society. On two occasions Lipmann Kessel Prize from British Elbow and Shoulder Society for best research presentation.
