Mr Qasim Mansoor

Mr Qasim Mansoor is a consultant ophthalmologist with a specialist interest in cataract and refractive lens surgery. His practice focuses on cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange and personalised intraocular lens selection, including monofocal, toric, extended depth of focus (EDOF) and multifocal lenses.

He has extensive experience in cataract surgery, including complex cases, and has a particular interest in achieving accurate refractive outcomes following surgery. His approach places emphasis on detailed preoperative assessment, modern ocular biometry and matching intraocular lens technology to the individual patient's eyes, lifestyle and visual requirements.

Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Mansoor has a longstanding interest in ophthalmic surgical education. He has trained and supervised ophthalmologists in cataract surgery in the UK and internationally and has developed a structured, stepwise approach to cataract surgical training. He has served as both an Educational Supervisor and Clinical Supervisor for ophthalmology trainees.

His academic interests include cataract surgical training, intraocular lens technology, refractive outcomes and human factors in surgery. He has published in peer reviewed ophthalmology journals and presented his work at national and international meetings.

Mr Mansoor believes that successful cataract and refractive lens surgery begins with careful patient selection, accurate assessment and an informed discussion about the advantages and limitations of the different lens options available.
