Mr Raj Mukherjee is an expert consultant ophthalmologist based in Leeds who specialises in retinal disorders, such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy alongside glaucoma, dry eye and eyelid lumps. He is also an expert in cataract surgery and associated procedures, such as YAG Laser Capsulotomy. Mr Mukherjee graduated from the University of Calcutta in India with a master's degree in ophthalmic surgery. After training there for four years, he spent another four years training at Oxford John Radcliffe Hospital both as a registrar and as a fellow.

He holds professional memberships at the UK Eye Genetics Group, the European Society of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and Yorkshire Retina Society. He is also Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Leeds.
