GMC: 6100945Professional statement
Miss Rakhee Nayar is a highly skilled consultant plastic surgeon in the north west. She is one of very few plastic surgery-trained and Mohs surgery-trained consultants. She is located in the north west of England, and frequently consults with patients from any part of the UK and beyond. With a broad spectrum of expertise, she is renowned for her proficiency in Mohs microsurgery, skin cancer treatment, facial reconstruction, addressing skin lesions, and tackling skin cancer, particularly on the face, including basal cell carcinoma.
Miss Nayar grew up and went to school in Manchester. She commenced her medical studies at the University of Liverpool, graduating with an MBChB with Honors in 2004. She chose to undertake further studies due to her interest in cancer, obtaining an MD from the School of Cancer Studies at the same university in 2015.
Furthermore, she was awarded an MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2008 and a diploma in hand surgery (EBHS) by the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand. The latter allows her the unique ability to offer Mohs skin cancer surgery for the hand in order to preserve and maintain function, by limiting the surgical defect where possible.
In addition to her clinical roles, Miss Nayar is actively engaged in teaching and research. She serves as a teacher and trainer for junior doctors and surgeons within the NHS. Her contributions to the academic community extend beyond her teaching roles, as she has been widely published and presented her research at both national and international levels.
Furthermore, Miss Nayar is actively involved in public organisations, holding the position of National Chairwoman for Mohs training within the Trainee Interface Group (TIG). She is also a proud member of esteemed organisations such as the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive, Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS).

- I unreservedly recommend Miss Rakhee Nayar. She is an extraordinary and excellent Mohs and plastic surgeon. Miss Nayar recently removed a BCC from my nose tip and now, 2 months later, there is almost no visible sign of it being done. I’m sure that in a few more weeks all trace will have vanished. She and her team are utterly professional and competent but also disarmingly charming and sensitive. I’ve had a lot of operations and none have been handled so well from start to finish.
- I'm so happy with the results of my Mohs surgery to have a BCC removed from the bridge of my nose. 6 mths later and you can't see a scar which i was worried about given the sensitive location between my eyes, and it needing quite a few stitches as it was deep routed. Miss Nayar explained everything thoroughly before, during and after my procedure. She was very friendly, professional and made me feel really at ease. I would totally recommend Miss Nayar to anyone looking to have Mohs surgery!
- Miss Nayar is so professional and put me at ease straight away on my first meeting with her, when I was having my procedure done for a melanoma on my leg, Miss Nayar talked through everything she was doing and her staff were so lovely too, a very reassuring experience, as I was so nervous, the second time I saw Miss Nayar I found I wasn’t nervous at all, also great communication with Lisa and herself with my results and forward planning of consultations needed in the future .Thankyou.
- I cannot reccomend Miss Nayar highly enough. I have had a BCC removed from my nose by MOHS surgery. She took great care to explain every step of the procedure to me with great kindness and empathy. I only have very minimal scarring now. I received excellent care from Miss Nayar and all her team, all of whom were extremely kind, patient and professional. Communication via her fantastic secretary Lisa was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Overall an excellent experience at a worrying time.
- Excellent treatment . Kept fully and accurate informed throughout and excellent results . Would ( and have ) highly recommend.
