Mr Richard Husicka

Mr Richard Husicka is a distinguished Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist based in Haverfordwest. His areas of expertise include menopausal problems, endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, prolapse, heavy menstrual bleeding, and postmenopausal bleeding. He is also highly proficient in laparoscopy, including hysterectomy and hysteroscopy, as well as in ultrasound diagnostics.

With over 30 years’ experience, Mr Husicka consults privately at Werndale Hospital in Bancyfelin. In the NHS, he practises at Withybush General Hospital and Glangwili General Hospital since 2011 and previously served at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital in Imperial College London and at Great Western Hospital in Swindon. Notably, Mr Husicka held the position of Labour Ward Lead at Masaryk University Hospital in Brno, Czech Republic, managing complex pregnancies and deliveries, obstetric scanning, and prenatal diagnostics including amniocentesis and cordocentesis.

Mr Husicka earned his MD from Masaryk University Brno in 1994. He trained at one of the largest university hospitals in the Czech Republic, gaining experience in reproductive gynaecology, onco-gynaecology, assisted reproduction, diagnostic imaging and complex obstetrics, before receiving Board II status in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Prague’s Institute of Postgraduate Education in Medicine. Mr Husicka successfully completed advanced training in maternal medicine as well from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Furthermore, Mr Husicka is an honorary lecturer at Cardiff University and has experience with clinical research, having contributed with numerous publications to the field of obstetrics and gynaecology.
