Mr Samirul Imam is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in Sports and Exercise Medicine. Based around Ipswich and Colchester, he specialises in the treatment of problems around the shoulder and elbow and is skilled at treating conditions like rotator cuff disease, shoulder and elbow pain and instability, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, and bone fractures. As a surgeon, he regularly performs minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures and complex fracture work.
Mr Imam qualified in 2002 from the Kings College London and underwent training in the East of England Deanery. In 2008 he completed a postgraduate qualification in sports and exercise medicine at the University of Wales in Cardiff and is now a Member of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine. In 2012 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. He subsequently went on to a fellowship at The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh before being appointed as consultant in 2014 at The Ipswich Hospital
