Dr Sean Weaver is a leading consultant gastroenterologist in Bournemouth. Dr Weaver qualified in medicine from Oxford University in 1993 and completed his specialist training in Oxford, Bath, Cambridge, Sydney and Bournemouth. He holds an MA, a PhD in inflammation from the University of Bath, a Master’s in leadership and quality improvement, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP). His clinical practice has a particular focus on inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Alongside his clinical work Dr Weaver has held several national roles. He has been a national colonoscopy trainer, a bowel cancer screening colonoscopist and national quality improvement lead for inflammatory bowel disease at the Royal College of Physicians. He is currently deputy medical director at the Royal College of Physicians’ Invited Review Service.
