Dr Simon Gabe is a leading London-based consultant gastroenterologist and co-chair of the Lennard Jones Intestinal Failure Unit, a specialist centre dedicated to managing and assessing patients with intestinal failure. His specialties include inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), clinical nutrition, and intestinal failure, while his clinical interests include parenteral nutrition and management of intestinal fistula.
Dr Gabe also is the Co-Founder of the National Adult Small Intestinal Transplant Forum with Addenbrooke's Hospital, which helps to assess patients before registering them for transplant. He was appointed Senior Lecturer at St Mark's and Imperial College in 2000, which became an NHS appointment in 2005. Dr Gabe has numerous publications to his name and is the current President of BAPEN (British Association of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition), having previously acted as the Executive Officer, Chair, and Honorary Treasurer.
