Mr Syam Morapudi is a highly esteemed orthopaedic consultant surgeon with a wealth of experience in both hip and knee replacement surgery based in Greater Manchester. He has performed large numbers of joint replacement surgeries with consistently excellent results as evidenced by fantastic feedback from patients. He has special interest in osteotomy surgery to realign the leg in younger patients with knee arthritis.
Mr Morapudi has been an orthopaedic surgeon in Macclesfield for many years, having qualified in India at the Christian Medical College, Vellore, a highly reputed medical institute, in 1998. He worked in rural setting in India in a mission hospital for three years, after which he gained experience in cardiac ICU. He undertook his Trauma and Orthopaedic training in the north-west of the UK and completed his specialist qualification - FRCS in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery.
To further consolidate his expertise and knowledge, he completed two fellowships for a period of 18 months in Melbourne in primary, complex and revision hip & knee replacement surgery, arthroscopic surgery of the knee, sports injuries and complex trauma.
Mr Morapudi is kind, caring, personable, empathetic, and takes time to listen. He is keen teacher and takes time to train the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons.
Mr Morapudi's research interests include clinical outcomes in patients with a metal-on-metal hip replacement, along with looking at natural remedies for patients suffering from arthritis.
