Mr Timothy Jones

Mr Timothy Jones is a consultant neurosurgeon based in London, specialising in brain tumours, including glioblastoma, low-grade glioma, meningioma, and brain metastases, as well as the surgical treatment of trigeminal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm. He also manages general neurosurgical conditions, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, lumbar stenosis, and hydrocephalus. Mr Jones privately practises at Cleveland Clinic London Hospital and Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital, while his NHS base is St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Mr Jones completed his medical degree at Imperial College School of Medicine, London, in 2002, which was followed by his surgical and neurosurgical training in London. During this time, he also earned a PhD, complementing his research into non-invasive techniques for brain tumour diagnosis and surgical planning using advanced MRI imaging. He achieved his FRCS (SN) in 2013, earning the prestigious Norman Dott ‘Gold’ Medal for placing first nationally. He further honed his expertise with a Marjorie Newsome travelling fellowship at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, USA, and a post-CCT fellowship in neuro-oncology in the UK.

Mr Jones places a strong emphasis on patient-centred care, advocating for treatments that prioritise both quality of life and longevity. He is highly skilled in advanced surgical techniques, including awake brain surgery, intra-operative imaging and visualisation and electrophysiological monitoring and mapping, ensuring precision and safety in complex neurosurgical procedures.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr Jones remains actively involved in research, focusing on innovative methods for brain tumour diagnosis and decision-making using MRI scans, advancing care for patients with neurological conditions.
