Mr Tim Spalding

Mr Tim Spalding is a highly regarded consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon, specialising in knee surgery. With over 25 years of experience, he is dedicated to treating knee injuries, meniscal transplantation, ligament reconstruction, and cartilage repair. He has pioneered several innovative techniques, particularly in the use of Ortho-Biologics, and is renowned for his work in osteotomy and knee preservation surgery. Mr Spalding sees patients at both Cleveland Clinic London Hospital and Cleveland Clinic Portland Place Outpatient Centre.

He trained in Oxford and completed a knee surgery fellowship in Toronto before joining University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. Throughout his career, Mr Spalding has contributed significantly to the field of orthopaedics, publishing over 90 papers and 12 book chapters. He also leads the UK National Ligament Registry for ACL surgery and serves as President of the International ACL Study Group.

In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Spalding is actively involved in academic and professional organisations. He co-leads the European Allograft Initiative and the ICRS Cartilage Foundation. His expertise extends internationally, with memberships in key societies such as the British Association Surgery of the Knee and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery & Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.
