Dr Vassiliki Bravis is a consultant endocrinologist specialising in diabetes, thyroid disorders and metabolic syndrome, alongside cholesterol, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and women's health. She privately practises at The London Clinic, The Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital and Welbeck, while her NHS base is Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
Dr Bravis has extensive expertise in managing a broad range of endocrine and metabolic conditions, with a particular focus on improving outcomes for patients with complex diabetes and thyroid disorders. She is the North West London Regional Lead for TEAMeD-5, an initiative aimed at enhancing care for people with thyroid eye disease, and is committed to improving patient pathways through innovative and evidence-based practices.
She graduated in 2003 from Cambridge University and Imperial College London, and later completed her postgraduate training at Hammersmith, Charing Cross and St Mary’s Hospitals. She has been awarded the NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship in Endocrinology and Diabetes, enabling her to carry out translational research at Imperial College. She has been a full-time consultant since 2015 and is also an honorary senior clinical lecturer at Imperial College London, where she actively mentors trainees and colleagues in delivering improved diabetes and endocrine care.
Dr Bravis has received numerous awards and recognitions for her contributions to the field, including the Sir Francis Avery Award, multiple Diabetes UK Education Awards and the Imperial Health Charity Innovation Award. She has also been shortlisted for prestigious accolades such as the BMJ Awards. Notably, her work has been recognised through several 'Make a Difference' awards for her leadership in improving inpatient diabetes foot multi-disciplinary care and driving innovation through the use of data and technology.
Dr Bravis is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and an active member of key professional organisations, including Diabetes UK, the Society for Endocrinology, the Diabetic Foot Study Group, and the European Group for Graves Orbitopathy (EUGOGO).
