Mr Winston Justin

Mr Winston Justin is a consultant gynaecologist in Harrogate and Leeds who specialises in menstrual disorders, fertility concerns and fibroids, alongside ovarian cysts, endometriosis, pelvic pain and vaginal prolapse. He practises privately at The Duchy Hospital - part of Circle Health Group, Spire Harrogate Clinic and Spire Leeds Hospital, while his NHS base is Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. Here he is fertility clinic lead, gynaecology cancer lead and previously was clinical lead.

Mr Justin qualified in medicine from Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University in 1996 and completed his postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynaecology in India, obtaining a Diploma in Gynaecology and Obstetrics in 2001. He continued his specialist training in the UK under the London Deanery, achieving Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2004 and later Fellowship in 2017. His advanced training includes a fellowship in infertility and assisted conception at the Centre of Reproductive Medicine at St Bartholomew’s Hospital.

He has developed a particular interest in minimal access gynaecology and has undertaken extensive training in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery with leading specialists in the UK and internationally, including in France, Germany, Italy and India. Mr Justin is reputed for calm, unhurried consultations with clear explanations, and patient feedback consistently highlights a reassuring manner, feeling listened to, and confidence in the care provided. His clinical practice focuses on delivering effective treatment through minimally invasive techniques where appropriate, supporting improved recovery and reduced disruption to daily life.

Mr Justin was appointed as a consultant gynaecologist in 2009 and has since gained significant experience in both general and specialist gynaecology. His work includes the management of benign and complex conditions, as well as fertility assessment and treatment. In his NHS role, he has contributed to the development of services in gynaecology and oncology, reflecting his broad clinical expertise and leadership experience.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Justin is actively involved in education and training. He is an honorary senior lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University and teaches on the MCh programme in minimal access and robotic surgery. He also supervises advanced training modules in laparoscopy and hysteroscopy for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and has held a leadership role in medical education at Harrogate Hospital. He regularly contributes to national and international courses and has published work in medical journals and textbooks.

Mr Justin is a member of several professional organisations, including the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy, the British Fertility Society, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India and the Bangalore Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

His approach to care focuses on careful assessment and the development of personalised treatment plans, working in coordination with primary care where appropriate.
