Ms Zaynab Jawad is a consultant general and emergency surgeon based in London. She specialises in abdominal pain, appendicitis, hernias (particularly inguinal hernia), cholecystectomy, cholelithiasis, endoscopy, and cysts.
Ms Jawad qualified in 2005 from Imperial College London and underwent higher surgical training in the North West Thames Deanery. She was awarded a PhD in nanotechnology from the Department of Engineering at Imperial College London in 2017, and in 2019, she became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons. She has a further MSc in Advanced Surgical Practice from Cardiff University, and an MA(Cantab) from the University of Cambridge. She is a fully JAG-accredited upper GI endoscopist.
In addition to her clinical practice, Ms Jawad is also an expert witness in medicolegal matters and has authored and co-authored numerous research and educational publications, including a handbook on radiology for the MRCS and FRCS which was published in 2023 by CRC Press.
