Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Dr Hiba Injibar's Dermasurge clinic in Central London provides the Anti-wrinkle Injections procedure package that uses botulinum toxin injections to reduce the signs of ageing in the form of wrinkles and fine lines in the skin, caused by repetitive muscle movement and facial expressions.

What does the Anti-Wrinkle Injections treatment do?

During the Anti-Wrinkle Injections procedure, minimal amounts of botulinum toxin are injected into the targeted muscles, which causes a temporary paralysis resulting in smoother skin, promoting a more youthful appearance. This treatment is frequently used to enhance the appearance of certain areas of the facial areas, improving the appearance of glabellar lines (between the brows), forehead lines, crow's feet, marionette lines, smoker's lines, as well as providing lifting and tightening effects on the neck and jaw, among other skin related issues.

Dr Hiba Injibar, a highly qualified and experienced consultant dermatologist oversees all aesthetic injectable treatments at the Dermasurge clinic. This ensures that all patients can confidently expect results that avoid the "frozen face" appearance often associated with botulinum toxin treatments, and can expect to achieve a subtle but noticeable improvement of the facial aesthetic.

What happens during the consultation and treatment?

When you decide to go ahead with the Anti-Wrinkle Injections treatment at the Dermasurge clinic, you can expect the following steps:
  1. Consultation: You will first have a consultation with a healthcare professional to discuss your medical history, past cosmetic treatments, and expectations for the botulinum toxin treatment. You can feel free to ask any questions at this stage, or voice any concerns you may have.
  2. Examination: The healthcare professional will examine your face, focusing on the target areas for the treatment, evaluating muscle movement, skin condition, and suitability for the treatment.
  3. Informed consent: Before the treatment begins, you will be asked to sign an informed consent form detailing potential risks, benefits, and side-effects. this ensures you have full understanding of the procedure.
  4. Preparation: The treatment area will be cleaned and a topical anaesthetic or cold pack is applied, for comfort during the procedure.
  5. Injection: Using a fine needle, botulinum toxin is injected into the specific muscles targeted for the treatment, to temporarily relax them. The number of injections will depend on the treatment area. The procedure will usually take around 10-30 minutes.
  6. Post-treatment care: Ice or a cold compress will be applied to the treated area to reduce swelling. Some medications or supplements may need to be avoided to reduce bruising risk.
  7. Results and follow-up: Noticeable effects may take a few days to a week. Results can vary, but you can schedule a follow-up appointment for assessment, adjustments, or additional treatments, as required.

Who should not have the Anti-Wrinkle Injections?

Pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as individuals with a sensitivity to botulinum toxin are not suitable for this treatment. Your eligibility for the treatment will be assessed within the clinic on the day of your appointment.

How long do the results of the injections last?

The results of the Anti-Wrinkle Injections at the Dermasurge clinic usually last between four to six months. However, this can vary from patient to patient, depending on how your body reacts.

Following this, a repeat treatment is required to maintain the results.
