Mr Ashley Simpson

Mr Ashley Simpson is a distinguished consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in brachial plexus and peripheral nerve injuries, based in London and practising at RNOH Stanmore. He has particular expertise in carpal tunnel syndrome, trapped nerve conditions, hand nerve repair surgery, tendon surgery, and surgical treatment of the shoulder and clavicle. Mr Simpson treats both adult and paediatric patients.

Mr Simpson holds a substantive consultant post at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital’s Peripheral Nerve Injury Unit. He completed his medical degree at St John’s College, University of Cambridge, and trained on the prestigious Percivall Pott Trauma & Orthopaedic Programme in London. His advanced training includes the Perth Sports Surgery Fellowship in Australia and the Upper Limb Fellowship at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. He is a committed educator, holding a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education and serving as faculty on several leading surgical training programmes, including the King’s Health Partners Executive Fellowship in Surgical Leadership. He also supervises national and international surgical fellows.

Alongside his clinical and educational work, Mr Simpson maintains a strong academic presence. He has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications and delivered more than 70 national and international research lectures. He is a member of several key professional bodies, including the British Elbow and Shoulder Society Education Committee, the SICOT Shoulder and Elbow Subcommittee, and the NHS Specialised Services Commissioning Work Group. Through these roles, he contributes to the development of national care pathways and helps shape the future of peripheral nerve and upper limb surgery.
