Mr Mark Coleman is a distinguished specialist in general and colorectal surgery who specialises in colonoscopy, colorectal surgery and hernia repair.
Throughout his career, he has held several high-profile roles at a national level within colorectal surgery. He was appointed National Lead Clinician of the Lapco National Training Programme in laparoscopic colorectal surgery in 2008, and later served as National Advisor to the Department of Health’s Enhanced Recovery Partnership Programme (2009–2010) and the National Training Programme for low rectal cancer (2010–2011). He currently acts as Deputy Regional Speciality Professional Advisor for General Surgery (South West England) for the Royal College of Surgeons, and sits on the Executive Council of the Association of Coloproctologists of Great Britain and Ireland as Chairman of External Affairs.
