I had severe bilateral sciatic pain and while waiting for an operation to relieve my lumbar canal stenosis the pain had become unbearable. My neurosurgeon recommended Dr Thawale, who prescribed powerful painkillers and then an epidural steroid injection, which helped enormously.

I was in severe pain with bilateral sciatica caused by lumbar stenosis. Dr Thawale prescribed pain relief and gave me a lumbar epidural, calming things down considerably. After surgery I had a further episode of severe pain; this time he gave me a caudal epidural, all is now fine

I had not been told not to take any food prior to proceedings, so I had to wait a long time, because I was due to have an anaestesia. Then the anaesthetist was called to an emergency, and my procedure went ahead without his services.

Dr Thawale was lovely as were the staff at the hospital, on my final appointment after my procedure I was some what disappointed, he got my name and age wrong, then mentioned a condition that I have never been diagnosed with! Maybe had the wrong notes!

What particularly impressed me was the frankness with which Dr Thawale dscribed the chances of major reductions in the pain in my back after the injections he administered.Ther was only a fifty -fifty chance of major improvement .
