In Manor Hospital for HoLEP op 12/13 June. This was an excellent experience. The waiting time was longer than I hoped, but shorter than other hospitals. Mr. Brewster was open and friendly, explaining what needed to be done and why and what to expect next.

Mr Brewster performed my HoLEP operation last Wednesday, and it is now Monday. I have no pain, only some soreness. All seems to be working correctly, but as yet, not quite perfectly, but early days. The anesthetic has not worn off completely yet.

Thank you, it is 'early days' as you say. After HoLEP the urine flow speed improves rapidly but other symptoms such as intermittent bleeding, urgency and discomfort may persist for several weeks (up to 3 months) while the cavity within the prostate gland heals. Similarly a few patients will experience transient leakage due to urgency or exertion for several weeks which responds well to pelvic floor muscle exercises and the vast majority of patients have full control by 3 months.

Mr Brewster was very professional & informative. He fully explained any questions I asked & made me feel at ease.

To be told by the NHS that I would had to wait for a HOLEP operation for up to 2 years, I googled top HOLEP surgeons and Mr Brewster came up. What a wise choice as he operated within a few days and I am 100% recovered. Great service and a BIG thank you.

Going forward, she will take steps to rapidly acknowledge patients contacting even if she cannot take a definitive action at that time.

Following a late appointment request from me, both Mr. Brewster and the very competent Kate (Secretary), rescheduled their day to accommodate me, same day! Analysis, discussion on this, and a plan of action were crafted in no time at all. Unparalleled...!

Needing non-urgent surgery, I investigated private, self-funded treatment. Mr. Brewster proved be an expert, approachable Surgeon who clearly explained everything and, with his Anaesthetist and Nursing team, delivered a first-class service.

I was extremely happy with my care and stay at The Manor Hospital. I have given a very good rating for the waiting time for my operation because I was basing the time-frame on my previous experience for a hernia procedure however urology could be busier.

My HOLEP prostate surgery was completely pain free.Thank you very much. Having had a very large prostate for a considerable amount of time and a catheter for some 5/6 months I would recommend this route to anyone.

I was totally satisfied with the explanation of my condition & possible options for treatment. Time was taken to explain everything in total contrast to NHS.

Many thanks, your feedback is very welcome. I notice you were not delighted with the friendliness of the staff at the Manor Hospital, or its facilities. I will feed this back to the Manager. I should say the COVID situation has meant the hospital has been used by the NHS which has pushed the staff a bit although fortunately we are still able to carry out procedures for private patients.

Very courteous, prompt, excellent, professional. You know you are in very good hands. Put at ease whilst the procedure was carried out.

Mr Brewster was helpful, welcoming and informative throughout. His post-operative attention was excellent and I couldn't have wished for a better consultant.
