Miss Sonia Mall is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in Surrey. She specialises in the treatment of cataracts, macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, eyelid cyst removals, and macula oedema.
Miss Mall qualified from the University of Southampton in 2005, and completed ophthalmic specialist training in the West Midlands and Oxford. In addition to her clinical practice, in which she has performed over 10,000 cataract surgeries, she has several published articles in various peer-reviewed journals. She is a co-author of a chapter on diabetic retinopathy, has presented her research at national and internal conferences, and has been a sub-investigator in clinical trials which investigated the use of intravitreal treatment for AMD and vitreomacular traction. She has been involved in medical education, training and teaching ophthalmology trainees, students, and collegues. She is a member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the Association for Research in Vision & Ophthalmology.
