I spoke with Mr Birdi regarding Mitral valve repair and to see if keyhole surgery was available to me. I found Mr Birdi very helpful in guiding me through my decision and also very honest about my current condition and what would be the best way forward for me.

I visited Mr Birdi earlier this year and found him charming - very helpful and a genuinely nice man all the staff I delt with at the clinic ( Liz & Frances ) were lovely and very approachable- I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone with heart problems

Mr Birdi was extremely informative and answered all my questions before surgery. Plus he visited me daily after surgery until I was ready to return home. I am hugely grateful that I had the option of less invasive surgery as my recovery has been much quicker than I expected.

Dr Birdi is the BEST heart surgeon. I needed a mitral valve surgery. Even though I had a different surgeon I was not at ease. After meeting Dr birdi I was put at ease. I can not use any word to explain how much of a good surgeon and a person he is. I had an excellent repair.

As a 72 year old, I was extremely apprehensive. Mr Birdi gave me the courage to proceed. From not being able to walk upstairs, I left the hospital after 5 days, as forecast, and took a train to my home in Northern England. Friends cant believe my progress. Thank You Mr Birdi !

Mr Birdie ticks all the boxes, he's very aware in a way many doctors seem to not always convey . His vast experience and knowledge of cardiology became immediately obvious which made me feel very comfortable and happy to put my trust with him . Thank you Mr Birdie .

Last December 4th, I had a minimal evasive procedure performed by Mr Birdi. This was to sort out my severe regurgitation of my aortic valve. I recovered within weeks and cannot thank Mr Birdi enough. He is the very best, thank you Sir.

After being diagnosed with severe aortic stenosis I found the videos produced by Mr Birdi and his team we’re very helpful to understand the disease and the potential treatment options available. Several questions I had were clearly and promptly answered.

An excellent surgeon who has increased the quality of my life by 100%. Today I am in Canada three months after my surgery and have managed to walk up a hill without being breathless. Thank you Mr Birdi for improving the quality of my life.

I just had Aortic Valve Replacement last week, I am feeling great. My energy levels are already improving. Mr Birdi’s skill and expertise are amazing. He explained everything to me before surgery and I felt so confident and reassured.

Mr Birdi was outstanding. The location for the pre-tests was changed at a very late stage, and in fact I only learnt of this change after I'd arrived at the originak location.

Mr Birdi is the only surgeon I trusted to operate on my mum’s heart. As a self paying patient, his care and team really were worth every penny and more. Our only regret is that we didn’t go to him sooner. He really is the best of his field.

I was a reasonably fit 67 year old with stable angina. An Angiogram indicated the need for a triple coronary bypass. I was aware that open heart surgery was highly traumatic and the use of heart lung machines could temporarily impair my mental functions. I consulted Mr Birdi with a raft of relevant questions related to potential treatment options. He answered all my queries and warned that he might only be able to replace 2 of the arteries with minimal invasion and in the worst case may need to perform the traditional method of surgery. In conjunction with Anaesthetist Mr George and a team Mr Birdi replaced 3 coronary arteries using minimally invasive techniques with my heart beating, using durable arteries for grafts. After a few hours sedation I awoke fully lucid, if frail. After 2 days in ICU and 4 days total I walked out of the hospital, albeit carefully. I walked a few hundred metres after 1 week and approached fully functional after 4. By 6 weeks all incisions had healed and was performing arduous physical activity. I have nothing but praise for the opportunity to benefit from this latest surgical technique. The rapid recovery has enabled me to carry on with my personal plans with little interruption.
