Mr James Laban is a leading consultant neurosurgeon practising in London. His main interests are neuro-oncology (brain and spinal tumours), spinal surgery, and hydrocephalus, providing world-class excellence in these fields. 

Mr Laban trained at Imperial College London and received the prestigious Wolfson Scholarship for his BSc (Hons) in neuroscience. Mr Laban undertook his postgraduate studies in neurosurgery at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Charing Cross Hospital, King's College Hospital, Addenbrooke's Hospital, Hurstwood Park Neuroscience Centre and St George's Hospital. 

Following his qualification as a neurosurgeon specialist, Mr Laban was awarded the Royal North Shore Fellowship in neurosurgery allowing him to become an expert in neuro-oncology and spinal surgery. 

Mr Laban also has academic responsibilities and has been a reviewer for the British Journal of Neurosurgery and is also on the London Neurosurgery Specialty Training Board.
