Professional statement

Dr Jan Hoffman is an honorary consultant neurologist at King's College Hospital, London. He is an internationally recognised specialist in headaches and facial pain disorders.

Dr Hoffman graduated with a doctoral degree from the Charité, Universitätsmedizin, Berlin and went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. He worked at the Headache Centre at the University Medical Centre in Hamburg-Eppendorf before relocating to London.

Outside his private practice and King's College NHS Foundation Trust, Dr Hoffman is a clinical senior lecturer at King's College London and serves as an associate editor for Cephalalgia and the Journal of Oral & Facial Pain and Headache. He is also a council member of the British Association for the Study of Pain, as well as a member of the Emerging Therapies Committee of the International Headache Society.

Dr Hoffman has numerous publications to his name, including the European Headache Federation treatment guidelines for idiopathic intracranial hypertension and is a valued member of many organisations such as the Royal College of Physicians and American Academy of Neurology.
