Dr Joshua Maduwuba

Professional statement

Dr Joshua Maduwuba is a leading consultant psychiatrist based on Harley Street, London, who specialises in ADHD, Adult ADHD and ADD.  He privately practises at the Private Therapy Clinic and his NHS base is Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. 

Dr Maduwuba, who after graduating from medical school (MB BS, University of Ibadan, Nigeria) decided to specialise in psychiatry and completed his training in general adult psychiatry from the London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex deanery. Furthermore, he was awarded an MRCPsych in Clinical Neuropsychiatry. 

Dr Maduwuba is the clinical lead of his NHS community mental health team. Alongside his extensive adult psychiatry experience, he also works with young people that are experiencing emotional challenges on the threshold of adulthood. 

Dr Maduwuba has been involved in Mental Health Act Assessment as a Section 12(2) doctor. He has prepared reports for and given evidence as a responsible clinician at mental health tribunals, is competent in court report preparation and assessment of mentally disordered offenders in prison, secure settings and other acute units. However, his main areas of interest are personal injury, clinical negligence and brain injuries and he has been preparing medicolegal reports since 2015. 

Dr Maduwuba's research has been published in various peer-reviewed journals. Also, he attends conferences all over the world and is a member of several professional organisations. These include the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Medical Protection Society and the UK Adult ADHD Network, alongside the British Medical Association, the British Association of Psychopharmacology and the American Psychiatric Association.
