Dr Khaled Yazji is a highly experienced consultant cardiologist based in Surrey. He specialises in complex coronary artery disease and heart failure as well as shortness of breath, chest pain and palpitations.
Dr Yazji was awarded his medical degree from the University of Aleppo in 2002 and later relocated to the UK to pursue further training. He gained a wealth of experience throughout his general training at a number of hospitals across England and Wales, before going on to specialise in cardiology in 2010. He qualified as a consultant cardiologist and coronary interventionist in 2017 and currently sees patients in private practice at BMI The Runnymede Hospital.
Dr Yazji has completed two specialist fellowships in cardiology at Worcestershire Royal Hospital as well as another at Furness General Hospital in Morcambe Bay NHS Trust. While working within the trust, he was appointed as an OSCE examiner for medical trainees. Since then, Dr Yazji has honed his skills as an educator and continues to lecture both locally and nationally on key areas of cardiology for colleagues and trainees.
Dr Yazji is an active researcher and has published extensively on the treatment of complex cardiac diseases and coronary procedures in the field of cardiology. Across his esteemed career, he has additionally performed a number of audits to develop services and improve outcomes for patients. He is the clinical governance lead for the cardiology department at Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is responsible for quality improvement and safety in the department. Recently, he led an audit to assess and optimise the system for chest pain referrals within the trust.
