Mr Nish Srikantha is a leading consultant ophthalmologist based in Basingstoke and Winchester who specialises in both general ophthalmology and emergency ophthalmology, providing eye care for conditions such as retinal tears. With over 15 years’ experience, Mr Srikantha has particular expertise in cataract surgery and in the medical, laser, and surgical management of glaucoma, performing minimally invasive glaucoma surgery with iStent or Preserflo, aqueous shunt implantations, as well as trabeculectomy procedures.
Mr Srikantha, who is part of the renowned LaserVision group, consults privately at Candover Clinic and at Healthshare Clinic Winchester. He originally qualified from St George’s, University of London in 2004 and completed seven years of ophthalmology training within the Wessex region before going on to accomplish a prestigious glaucoma surgical fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Mr Srikantha was appointed as a substantive consultant ophthalmologist at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital in 2019, and presently holds a consultant ophthalmic surgeon and glaucoma specialist post at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he also runs dedicated clinics for general ophthalmology, cataracts, and glaucoma.
