Dr Piera Santullo

Dr Piera Santullo is a highly-renowned consultant in rehabilitation medicine based in Birmingham, with over a decade of experience. Dr Santullo has extensive experience in helping rehabilitate patients from a wide range of injuries and conditions. Her areas of expertise include traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, pain management, spasticity management with Botulinum toxin (Botox) injections, peripheral nerve and joint injection, case management.

She has been working as rehabilitation expert in medicolegal cases both from the claimant and defendant side.
 
Dr Santullo currently serves as the clinical chair and lead consultant in rehabilitation medicine at Circle Health Rehabilitation Birmingham. As clinical chair and lead consultant, she ensures all patients receive top care that is medically led by a multi-disciplinary team.
 
In addition to her private practice, she has over 10 years of experience working within the NHS. She currently practises as a consultant in rehabilitation medicine at Derby and Burton University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Training and teaching of future rehabilitation doctors is one of her other main interests. In fact, she is the rehabilitation training programme director for East Midlands trainees.
She is a faculty member of the pro academy and invited speaker to the pain school international in Budapest.
 
Dr Santullo is highly qualified, having first graduated with a degree in medicine from the University of Naples in 2009. She then went on to complete her physical and rehabilitation medicine training in Bologna and Salisbury. She also studied osteopathy at Bobigny University in Paris, and completed a pain fellowship at the Pain School International in Hungary.
 
Dr Santullo is a member of the British Society of Rehabilitation Medicine and is a group member of both the society’s musculoskeletal special interest group and the trauma special interest group.
