Dr Rasha Al-Lamee is a highly regarded interventional cardiology consultant in London who is also a world-leading academic in cardiovascular research. She specialises in coronary artery disease, acute coronary syndrome, interventional cardiology, general cardiology and cardiac rehabilitation.

Dr Al-Lamee qualified from the University of Oxford in 1999 with honours and completed her academic studies at the Royal Free and University College London Medical School in 2002. Her practical training as a junior doctor was completed on the highly regarded Barts and London Medical Rotation and the North West London Carrdiology Specialist Registrar rotation. She attends private patients at the One Heart Clinic in Harley Street and Highgate Hospital in London.

Dr Al-Lamee has thirteen years of clinical Cardiology experience. She completed three years of Interventional Fellowship training at Hammersmith Hospital in London and spent a year training in complex intervention under the supervision of Professor Antonio Colombo in Milan. She qualified as a consultant cardiologist in 2013. She was awarded a PhD from Imperial College London in 2018.

Dr Al-Lamee is a world leading academic in cardiovascular research with a focus on clinical trials that impact the care of patients with coronary artery disease. She believes in the rigorous testing of clinical practice and the use of evidence-based medicine in all aspects of medical care.

Not only has she participated in over 70 peer-reviewed publications and presented at international cardiology conferences worldwide, but she conducted and led one of the most widely cited clinical cardiology trials of the decade. This trial, called the ORBITA trial, researched the use of coronary angioplasty to treat stable coronary artery disease. Her research interests are complex coronary intervention, invasive intravascular assessment and coronary physiology. Furthermore, she is the lead author of the primary publication in The Lancet, which is among the eldest and esteemed medical journals. 

She leads a research team at the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London investigating many aspects of cardiac care with a predominant focus on stable coronary artery disease.
