Professor Timothy Briggs is a leading consultant orthopaedic surgeon based in greater London, at the Spire Harpenden and Spire Bushey Hospitals. His clinical interests include reconstruction of the lower limb, as well as sports injuries of the knee and orthopaedic oncology. He is lead clinician and medical director at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH). He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Journal of Arthroplasty and was editorial secretary of the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA). He is also former president of the BOA. He was appointed national director for Clinical Quality and Efficiency by Jeremy Hunt in 2015, with which he focused on surgical patients facing a higher risk of infections as beds were not “ring-fenced” for those undergoing the same types of procedures. Professor Briggs is one of the surgeons for the Arsenal men's and Arsenal lady's football clubs.
