Mr Nigel Gummerson is a consultant orthopaedic spinal surgeon working in Halifax and Leeds. He specialises in surgery for degenerative conditions of the thoracic and lumbar spine, back pain and sciatica, spinal stenosis and spinal deformities such as scoliosis and Scheuermann’s kyphosis.

Mr Gummerson studied medicine at Oxford University. He returned to Yorkshire to join the Leeds basic surgical rotation. Mr Gummerson then joined the Yorkshire Orthopaedic rotation where he gained experience from a number of centres across West and North Yorkshire. He completed his spinal training with a Spinal Surgery Fellowship in Sheffield and International observership visits to Dr Lawrence Lenke and Dr Daniel Riew in St. Louis, USA.

Mr Gummerson is the Clinical Lead for the Spinal Surgery Service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
