Dr Adrian Casey is a distinguished consultant neurologist based in London, renowned for his exceptional expertise in a range of spinal conditions and innovative surgical techniques. With a focus on spinal surgery, spinal fracture management, back pain alleviation, spinal stenosis treatment, laminectomy procedures, and spinal fusion interventions, Dr Casey is a leading authority in his field.

After qualifying in medicine from the University of London in 1985, Dr Casey underwent specialist training in neurosurgery at Atkinson Morley’s Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. He was first appointed as a consultant at the Charing Cross Neurosurgery Unit in 1997. A trailblazer in his field, he became the first neurosurgeon to purely specialise in spinal neurosurgery in the UK. He is an appointed fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in both general surgery and surgical neurology. Dr Casey continues to serve in his unique position, created to bridge the disciplines of orthopaedic and neurosurgical spine surgery, at his NHS bases of The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. He sees private patients at HCA The Wellington Hospital in central London.

Dr Casey's contributions to the field of neurology extend far beyond his clinical practice. He was instrumental in establishing spinal training for the European Association of Neurological Surgeons, and his extensive body of academic work encompasses over 200 peer-reviewed journal articles. He continues to be actively involved in research which covers a diverse array of subjects, ranging from neck and back pain to spinal stabilisation, artificial disc technology, cervical myelopathy, lumbar canal stenosis, and spinal tumours.

Dr Casey holds prominent positions in various institutions, including as head of the spine department at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and co-director of the European Association of Neurological Surgeons. He is a former president of the British Association of Spine Surgeons and has also acted as a council member for the Society of British Neurological Surgeons and the British Orthopaedic Association. Dr Casey is also an honorary senior lecturer at Imperial College and University College London.
