Mr Ahmed A Othman is a highly skilled Consultant Cardiac and Aortic surgeon, who treats patients at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.
 
He sub-specialises in aortic surgery, which includes surgery for aortic root, arch, and thoraco-abdominal aortic diseases. His operative armamentarium includes valve preserving root replacement, aortic arch replacement including hybrid arch repair, thoraco-abdominal aortic repair, valve replacement and coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG)
 
In 2004, Mr Othman graduated from Ain Shams University medical school, Cairo. He undertook cardiac surgery training at Cairo's National Heart Institute, a leading cardiac centre in the Middle East. During this time, he successfully completed his master's in surgical science at Ain Shams University in 2010 and earned his membership to the Royal College of Surgeons, London.
 
Mr Othman completed a fellowship in adult cardiac, aortic, and congenital cardiac surgery at Aswan Heart Centre, Egypt. Over the course of this three-year fellowship, he was mentored by Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub. In 2013, he relocated to the UK to complete his surgical training at Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust.
 
In 2017, he became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Cardiothoracic surgery after completing the FRCS-CTh, and, in 2018, he undertook a research scholarship at the esteemed Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Ohio.
 
Upon completion of training, Mr Othman was awarded the Terumo Aortic Fellowship in Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, and following this, he was appointed as a consultant cardiac and aortic surgeon.
 
He is a member of Chain of Hope, England and La Chaîne de l'Espoir, France, and has led many cardiac surgery charity missions during the course of his career.
