Clinical Psychologist with 21 years’ experience in general adult mental health. She offers a sub-specialty in the treatment of Eating Disorders. Isobel has helped more than 550 clients with symptoms of depression and anxiety, and over 300 clients who struggle with disordered eating and negative body image. She offers a blend of face-to-face and on-line therapy.
She studied psychology and philosophy at Oxford University and clinical psychology at Kings College, London. Her first training was in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. C.B.T. is now a nationally accepted treatment of choice for depression, anxiety disorders and eating disorders. For clients who do not respond to C.B.T, Isobel has expanded the treatment approach by using techniques that help people become aware of the unique, unconscious processes behind their symptoms. These methods are informed by awareness-based approaches such as Process Work and Mindfulness.
In 2014 her work was recognised in the Lancashire Care NHS Staff Excellence Awards when she was nominated in the client-led People's Choice category as ‘professional who has made a difference’.
